October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month
October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, NDEAM for short, and KenCrest will be celebrating along with others who are committed to Employment first for all people.
During this month, KenCrest’s Employment team will provide you with information and resources that will help you to:
— Understand employment supports and why they are relevant —
— Know how the employment team can help you and those you support —
— Easily access the employment team whenever you need us —
— Be a part of the movement to increase employment outcomes for people with disabilities —
Be on the lookout for weekly emails and our daily social media posts highlighting all that our Employment Program has to offer, as well as statistics and stories that will help us to raise awareness about the importance of employment outcomes for the Intellectual Disability community!
We would also like to invite everyone to participate in a virtual Lunch and Learn on October 14th 12:30-1:30 “Everything you need to know about Employment Supports”.
You will be sent a link to participate after you register and training hours will be tracked. Sit down with your lunch and join in on the discussion about employment support! If you can’t make it to the Lunch and Learn, the session will be made available to you through Relias.
If you have any questions about National Disability Employment Awareness Month or the Employment Programs at KenCrest please connect with Alli Smale, Director of Employment Programs, for assistance (asmale@kencrest.org or 610-633-0104).
