When the coronavirus shut down schools and day cares across the Philadelphia area, many of the families in our Early Learning Centers faced unexpected financial burdens—including the increased cost of food for their households. Several weeks ago, our Early Learning Center staff were able to begin mobilizing resources and deploying out teams to start delivering a week’s worth of breakfast and lunches to the ELC children who need them. With nearly 1,000 children served by KenCrest’s ELCs, it’s no small effort to hand deliver so many meals, but 100% worth it! To date, we’ve delivered over 47,000 meals to over 500 families!
